The CPCF Academy Emerging Artists Chamber Music Program focuses on gaining greater musical understanding and performance experience and is intended for string players and pianists beginning their professional careers.

The program includes daily intensive coaching sessions, self-directed ensemble rehearsals and masterclasses with internationally acclaimed artist faculty. This intimate and advanced training offers Academy Emerging Artists an exceptional educational opportunity to further develop their understanding and experience in chamber music performance. Academy Emerging Artists perform in the Festival concerts, open masterclasses and special events.

With limited acceptance, young artists may apply for the program as individuals or as pre-formed ensembles.

All Academy Emerging Artists accepted into the Chamber Music Program will receive a full tuition scholarship. Travel, accommodations, meals, and activities are not included.

Selection Process

Emerging Artist participants are chosen through a rigorous juried selection process. Candidates are selected based on their online application including video recordings, biographies, and repertoire lists and their potential to make a significant contribution in the profession.

Video Submission Requirements

  1. Video* recording(s) should include a minimum of two selections of your choice in contrasting style and character. Selections may be complete works or movements.
  2. Recordings are the primary adjudication tool and should be of the highest possible audio quality.
  3. Each selection must be completed in one take with no editing.
  4. Recordings must have been completed no more than 1 year before the application deadline.

* Please make your video and upload it to YouTube under the “public” or “unlisted” (not “private”) setting. You may record your audition in one continuous session, or record movements and excerpts separately, as long as recordings are not edited. Please ensure that any separately filmed excerpts are combined into a single Youtube video.
